The Rob Loafer from Yuketen is a new introduction for SS24 and forms part of Yuketen's Made in Italy Collection. Director Yuki Matsuda’s design concept with this collection is to take classic, well-loved American footwear styles and produce them in an artisanal, small historic Italian factory in Mount Sibillini.
These Loafers's are handcrafted using genuine Moccasin Construction, meaning the leather is wrapped from under the foot, completely enveloping the foot like a thick, super comfortable leather sock. The Rob is cut using original Yuketen patterns and hand-lasted using a last from the 1950’s, while the vamp and saddle areas feature unique hand-stitching details. The intricate overcast stiching on the saddle ensures that the seams are highly durable but also easy on the eye. Finished with classic penny loafer styling by adding a leather saddle across the plug with a hand-cut slot
Cut from a full grain, flesh-out Tosca leather tanned by Opera in Toscana, Italy. The tanning process for Tosca leather involves turning the leather inside out, which creates a unique texture and finish. The outer surface of the leather has a soft, suede-like texture, while the inside retains the smooth and durable grain side.
